The average age of tech company entrepreneur is 40. But that doesn’t mean that you as a young entrepreneur can’t reach the same level of recognition, respect and success. However, there are certain things that you must follow to thrive in the industry.

Here is a list of 5 tips that we have compiled after talking to the entrepreneurs in their twenties.

  1. Don’t be hesitant to ask for help – Your positive and optimistic nature and confidence have encouraged you to make the brave decision to start your own business. You’re not like others of your age. You’re awesome. But be careful. Your confidence may damage you. Your way to success should not be paved with mistakes but mistakes properly handled. Apart from sheer luck and intuition, a few simple advices can get you through the hurdles. If there is someone to help you unconditionally, why don’t you share your challenges with him? Have good relationships with people, especially who might help you by sharing their experience and knowledge, and be sure to ask for help it needed. It really makes difference.
  2. Create meaningful online reputation – Today’s world is very much tech-savvy. Even a toddler knows to operate a Smartphone or a laptop. The first and foremost thing people do when looking for someone or something is to Google it. If people look for your company, they will search your company’s name on Google. Make sure your prospects always see thoughtful and expansive online presence of your company as well as yourself as the founder/CEO of the company. Start a blog and write for it regularly. Become member and regularly participate in online communities and forums. Social networking platforms are the great place to build a solid online brand reputation. So have your own page on G+, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other such networking sites. Be regular there and interactive with your friends and followers. Post regular updates to keep them going and active. Whether you have a flat for rent in Ranchi or Philadelphia, you can do positive social networking from any place in the world.
  3. Make a solid impact at events – Make sure you participate in the events where there will be chock-full of people who care for your niche industry and the issues you’re also trying to solve. Socialize and make friends at after-parties, social events and networking sessions. Make at least two new real business relationship every day instead of collecting business cards. You can also think about creating your own event and invite those people who seem valuable for your business in your view.
  4. Don’t take yourself so seriously – Yes, you’re an entrepreneur, but don’t pretend this every time. Serious blog posts, write-ups, well structured Facebook comment, professional Twitter bio – all these depict that you’re over thinking them. Stay cool and casual on social platforms. Have fun, joke with other users in your space. You can share funny posts, videos etc. you can also write blogs with a particular paragraph on technical disruption at mid age. You’re yet to become another Steve Jobs – until then you keep joking within reason and limit.
